The title refers to the psychological phenomenon in which a random stimuli is mistakenly perceived as a recognizable form. This occurrence is based on the theory of memory and prediction generally associated with archeology and religious experiences. In the context of the exhibition the set of works obey perceptive games of forms and structures that refer to everyday situations that are thematically oriented to celebration, rituals of consumption and both individual and collective memory.

Friday, December 23, 2016, from 7:00 pm at 204 Calle Canals Santurce, PR. Rem Project is pleased to invite you to the exhibition entitled Pareidolia. The title refers to the psychological phenomenon in which a random stimuli is mistakenly perceived as a recognizable form. This occurrence is based on the theory of memory and prediction generally associated with archeology and religious experiences. In the context of the exhibition the set of works obey perceptive games of forms and structures that refer to everyday situations that are thematically oriented to celebration, rituals of consumption and both individual and collective memory.
The exhibition contains works by artists such as Chemi Rosado Seijo, who participates in paintings associated with the project Mapas de cerro / Hill Maps (2002 – present) where dry pieces of wall paint are taken out and rethought as territorial maps of the context where the artist works together with the community. Another of the participating artists is Jesús “Bubu” Negrón with his carnival paintings, whose pictorial process resume artisan practices associated with the fabrication of masks of Loiza Aldea’s carnivals, thus executing a series of implied abstractions whose thematic axis approaches tradition.
The artist collective, Vientre Compartido composed by the twin brothers Jaime and Javier Suárez present a piece of their most recent series entitled Petro Fósil (2017), it consists of an ensemble using both natural and industrial elements in clear allusion to the contamination of our environment. Other artists that make up the show are Roberto Márquez Jorge, Juan Negroni, the Salvadoran artist Simón Vega, among others. The show will be open to the public until January 31, 2017. Participating artists: Jesús “Bubu” Negrón, Roberto Márquez, Jorge Juan Alberto Negroni, Karlo Andrei Ibarra, Quintín Rivera Toro, Jaime and Javier Suárez (Vientre Compartido), Simón Vega, Zilia Sánchez, Chemi Rosado Seijo, Rabindranat Díaz, Omar Velázquez, and Radamés Juni Figueroa.
