As part of an ambitious expansion, Rem Project is pleased to announce its new Creative Director, Jesús “Bubu” Negrón. Knowing the artist position in today’s art world, Negrón focuses this new facet of his career in a collaborative process that incorporates the artist commitments to other galleries and/or other institutions. With an international artistic career of over 20 years, Negrón plans to harness his contacts and experience in the global art market to expand the gallery’s horizons. His new vision for REM Project started with an artist residence called “La Comuna” that invites artists from abroad to participate in the Puerto Rico’s art scene. In this way, our new Creative Director recontextualize the traditional gallery notions, leaving behind the concept of “representing” artists in favor of a more dynamic link system among the agents in the art circuit, including, but not limited to, artists, gallerists, critics, art historians and museums.
