Control

El término “control” contiene varias definiciones haciendo que la misma tenga un aire de ambigüedad. Dado esto, la palabra describe tanto la sujeción de un pueblo como el dominio de una habilidad, es sinónimo de opresión y perder el control para unos significa liberación, dejar ir ataduras emocionales. La definición de control es distinta para cada individuo, es una palabra maleable. Control: una selección de ideas, reunie distintas definiciones de “control” y como es interpretado en el arte contemporáneo.
La selección de obras cae bajo las categorías del control sea propio o ajeno ambos términos sugieren conceptos emocionales y físicos. En cuanto el origen de la palabra, los filólogos mantienen dos teorías. La principal o más aceptada, sugiere que la palabra proviene del francés contoler, que proviene de la palabra contre role. Trataba en la época medieval de un rollo de papel, el cual, según el etimologias, “se refería a un rollo de papel que era duplicado de original.” En pocas palabras, un recibo. Tal documento se utilizaba como comprobante de uno auténtico. Una hipótesis distinta y menos reconocida, trata de los galeones españoles aterrizando en Sevilla llenos de oro de las Américas con el fin de depositarlos en la Torre del Oro de dicha ciudad. Para cada depósito se le entregaba un vale llamado Contra el Oro, nuevamente un recibo. “[E]ste nombre con el tiempo fue disvirtuándose siendo contraeloro luego contraloro llegando hasta estos días control. Que es el significado de la palabra controlar algo…” La Real Academia Española, le otorga 9 definiciones, descripciones que le ofrecen al termino la variedad de utilizarlo a conveniencia. Control, mantiene significados relacionados a la opresión, la tecnología, la motricidad (físico), emocional, es una palabra maleable, es vinculada a lo negativo y positivo. Es neutral. El control afecta al colectivo a favor o en contra. Pero todo comienza como un recibo, un objeto tangible con símbolo de certificación, autenticidad una garantía que promueve dejarse controlar lo hace sistemático como hacer lo correcto.
Las obras reunidas, plantean concepciones individuales de los artistas expuestos y cómo ellos perciben el control. Tal palabra, la cual en estos tiempos parece ir a la mano de opresión gubernamental, está representada como control emocional o físico, como la precisión. Control: una selección de ideas, no se limita exclusivamente a la definición de sometimiento.

The term “control” contains several definitions making it seem ambiguous. Given this, the word describes both the subjection of a people and the mastery of a skill, it is a synonym of oppression and losing control for some means liberation, letting go of emotional attachments. The definition of control is different for each individual, it is a malleable word. Control: A Selection of Ideas, will bring together different definitions of “control” and how it is interpreted in contemporary art. The selection of works fall under the categories of control of ourselves or others both terms suggest emotional and physical concepts. As for the origin of the word, the philologists maintain two theories. The main or most accepted, suggests that the word comes from the French contoler, which comes from the word contre role. The collected works pose individual conceptions of the artists exposed and how they perceive control. Such a word, which in these times seems to go hand in hand with governmental oppression, is represented as emotional or physical control, such as precision. Control: a selection of ideas is not limited to the definition of submission.
